Corruption and Human Rights: A Practical Guide
December 9th marks the International Anti-Corruption Day. Finalized in the same month, the Practical Guide is intended to be the first in a series of knowledge products to support the understanding of the linkages between corruption and human rights. It reflects the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights commitment to advancing accountability, transparency, and appropriate victim responsive approaches in both anti-corruption and human rights frameworks.
The Guide is designed to serve as a practical tool for a wide range of stakeholders to: (a) Facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the linkages between corruption and human rights; (b) Help operationalize obligations under international law to address the negative impacts of corruption on the enjoyment of all human rights; and (c) Support advocacy, inform policy development, and facilitate dialogue by offering concrete guidance on how to address corruption from a human rights perspective.
